Sometimes it's such a struggle living with chronic pain, and the question mark about if anyone will be able to help me with it. With the biopsy next week (Wed), I am trying not to pin my hopes on a diagnosis and easy fix. But could you imagine that? I haven't been pain free for an entire day for *two years* now. I forgot how it feels to not be thinking about pain and compensating for that pain in every daily activity.
It hurts so much to drive these days. It's the standard shift. My left hip is up and down a million times in one trip, inner city, which is all of my driving. I have moved the drivers seat closer to the wheel to minimize the angle of movement necessary, but it only helps a little. Again... winning the lottery would mean also buying a small automatic shift car. Nothing fancy :-)
Good news is that my HMO approved the coverage of the biopsy!! 100%!!! With no going to war, just like that, I got the letter today. Miracles never cease. Apparently, the type of biopsy that is planned for me can only be done at this specific hospital, with this specific equipment. They are going to do a needle biopsy under CT. In other words, there will be a CT scanning my pelvis at the same time as the needle will be inserted into my hip, so they can see where it needs to go. "Ow" comes to mind.
So it is a relief that it'll be covered. And, I finally got all the documentation necessary to send off the final (3rd time) request for the handicapped parking permit. Let's hope they don't find some other meaningless technicality to hold it up again.
I want a spa vacation. Again.... lottery time. ;-)
Yeah! Will they sedate your for the biopsy?
ReplyDeleteNo, it will be local anesthetic. I'm hoping it won't be too painful after it all wears off. But I am a bit scared.
