Steady progress

Just a quick update. Sarah felt mostly pretty good today, especially since the staff is cooperative vis a vis pain management, i.e. they actually give her appropriate pain medications, and in a timely fashion -- not something to take for granted given earlier experiences.

Also making things more pleasant were a couple of visitors from Beer Sheva who provided hours of lively conversation, delicious snacks, and even a reike treatment.

Another nice surprise was a visit from a young woman who lives near the hospital, and who regularly makes visits to cheer up the patients in Ichilov. Today she passed out jars of honey for the holidays, in addition to her usual yet quite sincere well wishes. A special person indeed.

Tomorrow Sarah is supposed to have the drains from her surgical wounds removed. That'll probably hurt a bit, but Sarah is looking forward to the increased comfort and maneuverability. Hopefully she'll be able to get up on crutches not too long after the removal of the tubes.
