What are the odds?....

The title has become our ironic response to what has become our ever-eyebrow-raising reality. We're actually learning to laugh at these things.

Now, you may already be starting to get worried. Moreover, this is Robert writing, and that's not generally a good thing on Sarah's blog. Well, I'll just say it:

Yes, Sarah has just been diagnosed with appendicitis.

This morning, I got back from dropping off the kids and was greeted by Sarah explaining that she intended to see her physician because she was feeling fluey, had a low-grade fever, and was especially concerned because of pain on the right side, i.e. possible you-know-what. Not that the pain was so strong, but we both knew that the WATO principle (see the title of this post if you don't know what WATO stands for) strongly suggested that it couldn't be anything else other than appendicitis.

Sarah's physician advised her to go to the emergency room (and you all know how much Sarah loves going to the ER at Soroka). Of course, Soroka followed the usual protocol of x-rays, then ultrasound, then CT. And of course this protocol took about 8 hours. And of course Sarah got stuck in an elevator on the way up to the CT, and then after being extracted had to walk up 3 flights of stairs, partly because the orderly didn't think to offer to bring her to the elevator at the other end of the building, and partly because at this point I was at home helping with the kids, and so wasn't there to help the orderly do his job properly.

Anyway, I have to get back to the hospital now. I'll update this blog at the soonest opportunity, but probably after the surgery.
