Day one, post surgery

I am typing from my hospital bed here in Tel Aviv-- cool, right? free wi-fi, although this touch pad keyboard is pretty slow to use. I'll keep it short.

So, the surgery came through without a hitch, and *much* faster than was anticipated. The whole thing was about 45 minutes... truly a miracle. The surgeon said that there was hardly any bleeding, as he expected there would be with the amount of scar tissue and adhesions present. I am in utter awe of Hasem's revealed miracles.

As I woke up out of the anesthesia, I heard Robert's voice next to me, telling me I am ok. It is a well- practiced scene, you know?

Today during the day was tolerable pain-wise. It started to get harder as the day went on. Much harder. While I had been telling people how easy it was and how entirely pleasant this hospital is, the full-on pain had yet to settle in. It was an amazing morning full of gratitude and awe for Gd, Merciful and Compassionate.

Friends came visitig, people called, and I spoke to the kids at home.

I haven't wanted any food, but I am trying to keep hydrated. I know that drinking will make me get up and go to the bathroom, though, and that is a difficult and tiring.

Speaking of tiring, I have to sign off, my eyes need a rest, and I am really sore.

My spirits are good, and I feel optimistic. I'd like to write more but my brain is working a lot faster than this touch pad, and I don't have the energy for it any more.

Signing off from my private room in Asuta hospital, Tel Aviv... :-)

  8. I can't get over the 45-minutes part. They thought this could be 6-7 hours, according to one of your past posts! I'm so glad that your insides are more normal than everyone thought :)

  9. 4th day post op is the toughest.

The more you stand up straight and walk around, the quicker you will recover.

    Refuah Shlaymah!!
