Miracles *do* happen

My mother seems to be having a miraculous comeback. Yes, you read that right. I am blown over. I didn't talk to my father for two days; I didn't have time at the right time to call the US. That, combined with the fact that even my father wasn't aware that my mother was off the ventilator completely for four days until they told him! There are so many tubes hanging around and sounds in the hospital room he didn't differentiate between on & off the vent. So when we got to speak today, I find out that she has been off the vent for six days already! Totally breathing on her own!!!!
Then two days ago (when I couldn't call) they started to do a test to see if she can re-learn how to swallow proper food, and she passed that one the first time!! Then they put a thingy into her trach tube to give her the chance to start talking again, and *she talked*!!!!!!
She said her own name, but the first day she didn't remember any of the names of her children. When asked about grandchildren, she only remembered one... my son with the difficult name, Azriel. So funny! And AMAZING.
The next day she did remember her children's names. She is starting to *talk*. She will need swallow tests a few more times before they try some soupy solid foods.

I am in a giddy sort of relief, I don't know how to explain it. Her cardiologist said that what is happening now is purely miraculous. She still has the infections, and will continue to get antibiotics continuously, and we pray for it to stay quiet in her heart valve. The stomach infection (c-diff) is  s l o w l y  getting better. It seems the stronger she gets, the better she can fight that particular infection. Please Gd her body will be able to eliminate that one completely.

This is all unbelievable. Miracles are unbelievable. Thank you, Gd, for starting to bring my mother back to us. You are the One Who can do Anything. Thank You for doing this.

Shabbat Shalom
