Cytomegalovirus

Saw my pain doctor today, we looked at my recent blood tests...

I have new initials to add to my medical resume: CMV. Stands for "Cytomegalovirus".

It is a virus, and nothing can be done about it, just has to run it's course. I had it seven years ago, as well, after my c-section with Azriel. It takes six weeks to three months to run it's course. It causes tremendous fatigue, and... swollen glands. That can explain the gland problem I've been having for quite some time now. A month? Dr. Z said that he doesn't know of swollen glands being a side effect of the pain meds I am taking, but my GP said it could be. Who knows.

As far as the problem of the drug-induced constipation, we are still looking for a solution. I am trying something these past few days which is sort of working, but I may try something else in a few days. What I *do* know, that it won't be castor oil!

It is what it is. I still gotta move on with life, and rest whenever possible. Like now. I am sooooo exhausted.

  5. I'm glad there's an identifiable reason for your fatigue and maybe swollen glands, rotten as the virus is.
