Siren 15 minutes ago

11:45PM, Wednesday

Just tore the kids out of warm beds for the siren. Dazed and confused they stumbled down the stairs to follow us into the safe room. Azriel whimpered in my arms until he found his thumb to comfort himself. Shifra wanted to know if it is daytime already.

We are starting to hear of the funerals held for our boys who laid their lives down for us. One from Be'er Sheva, all about 19-22 years old.

I want to amend what I said in the last post. I had to simplify it to talk to Azriel, but maybe I shouldn't be misleading him. Hashem doesn't always protect us, we all know that. He wants our prayers, but sometimes the answer is no, isn't it.

Post script: 12:30AM, just 45 minutes after the last one, everyone warmly sleeping again, another missile attack. Again, whip them out from fresh sleep. Azriel was already sleeping (and snoring) beside me in my bed, so I went down three flights of steps with him sleeping in my arms, relying on my bursitis hip, inflamed and sore after a long day. The hernia isn't so pleased, either. Sleeping pill, take me away. Good night, take 3. Tomorrow, Jerusalem and a free spa treatment, spending time with good friends, away from sirens and missile attacks... please Gd.
