Monday, Monday... (ba-da--- ba-da-da-dum...)

As I went up a zillion stairs in a place here in Be'er Sheva where the escalator wasn't working, I said to myself with each stair "Baruch Hashem, Baruch Hashem, Baruch Hashem...". I wore a little smile for myself in the corner of my mouth, too. And that was after a good swim work out, and a doctor's appointment.

Not that the pain in my thigh joint is gone, but the fact that the neuropathic pain is gone is huge. I can walk straight, much less pain, swim, go up and down) a zillion stairs. With me, those things are not to be taken for granted.

I have to get in touch with the pain specialist in Jerusalem about the Art-50, the medicine he prescribed for the joint pain. My doctor today said that I may need a higher dose, but we'll see what he says.

On Sunday I go to Tel Aviv and hear what Professor Meller says about my recent MRI regarding the PVNS... there *are* ongoing issues, but having the pain reduced in general is so huge, it is really like a rebirth. It shifted my world.

Speaking on ongoing issues, my doctor also informed me today that after the two rounds of antibiotics ("Zinnat"), my culture came back positive for e-coli still, and now the bacteria count is even higher, and it seems to be antibiotic resistant. That is, perhaps much stronger antibiotics could destroy it, but then we are talking about issues I don't really want to to get into-- allergies, iv's; not nice.

Interesting thing about it is that I don't feel any symptoms at all. I asked my doctor if I have no symptoms, can't we just let it rest dormant there? I mean, so what if the urine culture is positive for that stuff? I feel fine, so lets ignore it? She said nope, this one isn't good. Urine is supposed to be sterile and not grow anything in cultures. And it isn't sleeping, it's multiplying. boo.

So I did another culture today, just to double check. No antibiotics for the time being until we see that culture. Weird, right? I wonder what connection it has to the kidney stuff, if any?

Other than that, things are GOOD. Kids are good, Robert is good, new cleaning man is GOOOOODDDD!!!!

Life is. . .
blessed.

  1. Hi, Sarah: Bummer about the e-coli. I hope they can find an easy solution to that. And Yah! for the pain relief! What a blessing to be able to function so well. I pray this continues. :-)
